Based in Boulder, Colo., Lina Barrera leads CI’s engagement on international policy for fresh water and the Convention on Biological Diversity. Lina received her Master’s from the University of Cambridge in geography, with a focus on the overlaps between environment and development. Prior to her current position, she worked in CI’s Field Division, primarily with the Latin American programs. Before coming to CI, she also worked at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and conducted research on access to benefits from ecotourism in Toruguero, Costa Rica. Lina’s favorite activities are all nature-based: hiking, snowshoeing, skiing and camping. Learn more.
