Malinda Gardiner works for Conservation South Africa as the communications coordinator in the Namaqualand Landscape, where the team works with farmers to pilot and implement sustainable farming practices. Her work involves writing newsletters; liaising with radio stations to broadcast interviews of the work in Namaqualand, providing local papers with conservation-related content, mentoring a communications intern and assisting with communications materials such as fact sheets. With the exception of a three year spell, Malinda has been with CSA since 2002. In her free time, she runs a small farm with her family, on which they keep goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and grow their own organic vegetables and herbs. Malinda and her family practice sustainable and humane farming and provide most of their own food, including homemade cheeses.
