    As CI's Photo Coordinator, I work with amazing photography and the leading photographers in conservation. Recently, the Conservation in Focus Alliance, CI's partnership with BG, debuted an incredible exhibit called BG Thrive! in London, and now it has traveled to Brazil. It is being held at the The Botanic Garden in Rio de Janeiro from October 15- November 9, 2009. The exhibit features some of the most dominant conservation photographers like Luciano Candisani, who is member of the International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP).   • Head in the Sky, Feet in the Mud Lecture Series in Los Angeles

    October marks the kickoff of our LA Lecture Series, "Head in the Sky, Feet in the Mud." Each lecture will present different aspects of conservation, from water supply to ecosystem services, and their impact on human development. Our first lecture on October 8, "Achieving a Prosperous Ocean," will focus on marine conservation and will feature Dr. Greg Stone, CI's Senior VP of Marine Conservation & Chief Scientist for Oceans, and Dr. Sebastian Troëng, CI's Global Marine Vice President.   • Back at home, reflecting on Monday’s event

    CI’s press event launching Team Earth was a tremendous success. Just as the day before, the weather was beautiful, but the scene had changed somewhat. The area where Dr. Robert J. Lang had folded his origami trees had been replaced by a low riser for press cameras. The tent protecting the origami forest had been removed, leaving the installation looking more like a real forest. The general hustle and bustle of audio-visual teams, commuters and our staff preparing for a major press event created a very different atmosphere all together – one of anticipation.
