Ketut Putra is executive director at CI Indonesia. He works to maintain partnerships with NGOs, governments and members of the private sector that support CI’s mission. Ketut has helped to establish a safe environment for sea turtles to nest in by collaborating with local people — including schoolchildren — to clean up beaches.
He considers his greatest accomplishment to be single-handedly halting the sea turtle trade in Bali that was devastating populations of critically endangered leatherbacks. Ketut earned his master’s in integrated coastal management from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom. In his free time, he enjoys scuba diving with his sons and wife.
